Girl Nails Every Mom on a Work Call During COVID in Hilarious Impression

Little Girl Using Smartphone

Yep, looks about right.

A hilarious 8-year-old did a spot-on impression of her working mom, and it’s a must-see.

Our kids have gotten a whole lot of us in the last year–and, you bet, they’ve been watching and learning. One hysterical video is a prime example of just that.

Colleen Chulis, the regional vice president of sales at a software company in Charlottesville, Virginia, took to LinkedIn with a video we need every work-from-home mom to see. Her 8-year-old daughter, Adelle, asked Mom if she could film an impression of her and, well, the result is hilarious.

If this isn’t relatable, we’re not sure what is! For the last year, the mom of three–she also has sons Declan, 6, and Luke, 10–has been juggling competing responsibilities like the rest of us working moms. Her daughter nails what her Mom’s average day looks like: from jumping between phone calls and Zoom meetings, to literally snapping at her kids to leave the room and go get ready.

“I figured many of you might relate (and laugh) with the snapping and the multitasking. COVID changed a lot of things this past year and this has been a lot of my reality!” Colleen wrote. Spot-on!

The mom has been working remotely since the start of the pandemic while helping her three kids with hybrid learning, which “was a shock to our system,” she told Working Mother. Her husband, a university soccer coach, was home for the first three months handling the child care, until he went back to working in-person for the last few months. They’ve had help from their nanny more recently, but Colleen knows the struggle well.

Her video has already been viewed more than 11 million times, and has garnered nearly 300,000 comments.

“Something surprising to me was how many comments I received thanking me for being vulnerable. I truly didn’t think about it that way, but it has made me realize that we sometimes try too hard to compartmentalize ourselves, especially as working moms. Every year I feel that I gain a bit of confidence in owning the fact that I am a working mom, but it wasn’t always that way,” Colleen told Working Mother. “It’s so important to allow lightness and laughs into our lives–there has been so much heaviness in our world–friends and coworkers with terrible COVID losses or illnesses, people losing their jobs, children falling behind in school, just the overall stress of ‘Will things be OK?’ We continually talk about the meaning of what a silver lining is and how we are really lucky. I do try to really focus on some ‘fun’–whether it be a dance party in the kitchen with my kids before dinner, or making these silly videos with Adelle. It does make me (and Adelle!) feel good that we were able to get a lot of people to laugh, and to find humor in a challenging situation!”

This isn’t the first time a kid has hilariously impersonated her working mom: Back in January, a New York tween gave a spot-on impression of her mom on a work call, which is also a must-watch. We’ve got to hand it to the TikTok generation–they really know how to roast their parents online.

These moms get it, and so do their daughters. Kudos to them for giving us some comedic relief, just when we needed it most.
