Comedian Amy Schumer got real about working parenthood in the COVID era in a new Instagram video.

Comedian, actress and activist Amy Schumer is known for being an open book. And in a new Instagram video, she gets real about the truth behind parenting in the COVID era: It’s easier than it looks! LOLOL.

The camera pans through Amy and her chef husband Chris Fischer’s kitchen, showing orange peels, dirty baby bottles and even days-old crusty pots on the stovetop. So, basically, what all of our kitchens look like right about now. It turns out that parenting their nearly-2-year-old son Gene without child care has been a breeze.

“We were worried not having child care, but we’re actually doing really well. I think we’re a lot more capable of a lot more than we realized. All this help we’ve grown accustomed to, we don’t need it,” Amy says in the video. Ha!

No, but seriously. We’re glad the hysterical mom poked fun at what every working family has been dealing with for just about a year now. Working without child care in the COVID era has all of us… struggling, to say the least. And it’s refreshing for celebs to be honest about what help they’re getting–or, not getting, in Amy’s case.

Because it’s exhausting seeing celebrities give work-life balance advice on social media, as if we live the same lives. Which is exactly why we love the Trainwreck star, who isn’t afraid to show her not-so-perfect life to her fans. In the past, Amy has been candid about her pregnancy complications, mom-shaming, and living unapologetically as a working mom. And we’re here for all of it.

Honestly, anything that makes working parents feel more understood these days is making our short list. We could all use the comedic relief.
